About Our Founder: Chef Alvin Harvey
Our beloved Chef Alvin Harvey passed away in the month of March 2024, and prior to his demise, he was deeply committed to serving Jacksonville’s underserved populations. Combining culinary excellence with genuine compassion, Chef Harvey dedicated his life to addressing hunger through respectful outreach and impactful community service. With years of experience in both culinary arts and community activism, Chef Harvey personally oversaw meal preparations, community pantry operations, and educational initiatives, exemplifying leadership, generosity, and heartfelt dedication throughout his professional career, and as the foundation embarked.
Chef Harvey Foundation compassionately combats food insecurity in Jacksonville through respectful and dignified meal distribution.
Our proactive education programs empower Jacksonville residents with lifelong skills to overcome food insecurity sustainably.
Inspired by passionate founder Chef Harvey, and led by Chef G. “Rahab” Mccollors McClendon, our non-profit provides personalized care, nourishment, culinary training, cooking classes and ServSafe Certification to the Jacksonville community.
